Introduction to San Da Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a martial art with a relatively recent history in which kicks and boxing techniques are combined. Depending on the sports federation and regulations, "low kicks" (kicks to the legs), blows from the turn and with the backhand are allowed or forbidden. As in boxing, the fighters wear special protective equipment and boxing gloves to protect them from injury.

San Shou Kickboxing

In the Wuyi Athletic Gym we train "San Shou Kickboxing" - Chinese kickboxing, also called "San Da". San Shou is next to Thaiboxen (Muay Thai) Asia's most famous kickboxing and in China as popular as boxing in Europe and the US. In addition to kicking and boxing, the San Shou also allows leg sweeping techniques and the throwing of the opponent. The quick change between these fighting methods is very typical and characterize San Shou Kickboxing as a technically and athletically very versatile martial arts. (San Shou = free hands, San Da = free fighting)

Training

In addition to the right technique, the training naturally also promotes physical fitness. Power, speed, agility, stamina and reaction develop and increase as well as courage, willpower and self-confidence. You can really work out with the punching bag and punch pads and the varied fitness exercises help overcome the "inner demon". Sparring (training fight) requires fighting spirit, good technique and tactics. Sparring fights are always used to check your own level of performance and the implementation of trained techniques in combat situations. Wild beating and the polishing of your own ego is out of place here! In training, we attach great importance to sporting fairness and a friendly atmosphere. Racket types and hooligans have no place with us! Team spirit and fun training are also crucial in martial arts for good athletic performance and success. And, of course, we are happy about every female team support, as there are still too few girls and women active in Sanda kickboxing. So, dare!

Beginner's Stage

For the training entry, there is no need for previous knowledge or special physical conditions. And of course, nobody has to be afraid to fight in the first hours of training. A proper sore muscles, however, can not be completely excluded. The entry is possible at any time!
